Corn Bread II

Ingredients

  • 2 quart corn meal, (2 1/2 pounds)
  • 4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 2 tablespoon salt, (1 ounce)
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 quart evaporated milk
  • 1 quart evaporated milk
  • 1 quart water
  • 1/2 cup vinegar

Directions

  1. Press dry ingredients through a coarse sieve.
  2. Combine milk, water and vinegar and add to beaten eggs.
  3. Stir liquid quickly into dry ingredients.
  4. Add melted fat.
  5. Pour in a thin layer into well greased baking pans.
  6. Bake in a hot oven (425f) about 20 minutes.
