Chili Con Carne

Ingredients

  • 3 tablespoon fat
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 1 green pepper, chopped
  • 1 pound chopped beef
  • 2 cup tomatoes
  • 10 1/2 ounce tomato soup
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1 garlic clove, mashed
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 pound kidney bean

Directions

  1. Heat fat in 10-inch skillet.
  2. Add onion, green pepper, and meat.
  3. Cook until brown, stirring occasionally.
  4. Add next 6 ingredients.
  5. Cover.
  6. Simmer about 1 hour, stirring occasionally.
  7. Add more water if mixture gets too thick.
  8. Combine garlic and salt; add with beans to meat mixture.
  9. Heat.
