Canadian Oatmeal Sticks

Ingredients

  • 3 cup flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 3 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 1/2 cup scalded milk
  • 1/2 cup oatmeal

Directions

  1. Sift dry ingredients together, except oatmeal.
  2. Work in butter.
  3. Scald milk and pour over oatmeal.
  4. Allow this to cool.
  5. Add to other mixture and work with hands until smooth.
  6. Roll into sticks the size of a lead pencil.
  7. Bake ten minutes in a fairly hot oven.
