'C' Sugar Icing

Ingredients

  • 2/3 cup water
  • 3 egg whites
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 3 cup 'C' sugar

Directions

  1. Cook the sugar and water together without stirring until the icing "clicks" in cold water.
  2. Remove from the fire and pour very slowly over the stiffly beaten egg-whites.
  3. Beat vigorously and continuously until the icing gets thick and creamy.
  4. Add the vanilla.
  5. Spread on the cake.
