Brownies

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 2 squares unsweetened chocolate
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup sifted cake flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup broken walnut, meats
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

Directions

  1. Set oven for moderate, 350f.
  2. Melt butter and chocolate together over hot water.
  3. Beat eggs; add sugar gradually while beating.
  4. Add chocolate and butter to egg mixture; beat hard 1 minute.
  5. Mix and sift flour, baking powder, and salt; stir in to egg mixture; add walnuts and vanilla.
  6. Pour into greased pan, 8 by 8 by 2 inches.
  7. Bake 40 minutes.
  8. Cut into squares or strips.
