Baked Apples

Ingredients

  • 4 Jonathan apples
  • 2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 8 tablespoon 'C' sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla

Directions

  1. Wash and core the apples.
  2. Fill each with one tablespoon of sugar and one-half teaspoon of cinnamon.
  3. Place in a small tin pan just large enough to hold them.
  4. Add the water and the rest of the sugar, and bake forty-five minutes in a moderate oven.
  5. Baste frequently with the syrup.
  6. After the apples have cooked thirty minutes, add the vanilla to the syrup.
