Walnut Rocks

Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 3 eggs, beaten
  • 1/2 teaspoon cloves
  • 1 teaspoon soda
  • 1 1/2 cup chopped raisins
  • 1 1/2 tablespoon water
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts
  • 3 cup flour

Directions

  1. Cream butter and sugar and add the beaten eggs.
  2. Dissolve soda in the hot water and add to the creamed mixture.
  3. Sift flour, salt and spices twice and add half of it to mixture and mix thoroughly.
  4. Combine chopped raisins and nuts with the other half and add to the dough.
  5. Mix thoroughly and drop by teaspoonfuls onto greased baking sheets spaced a couple of inches apart.
  6. Bake in moderate oven (350-f) for 12 to 15 minutes.
