Pecan Pie

Ingredients

  • 1 unbaked 9-inch pie shell
  • 1/2 cup butter, or margarine
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 3 eggs, slightly beaten
  • 3/4 cup dark corn syrup
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 1/2 cup chopped pecans
  • whole pecan, meats

Directions

  1. Chill pie shell thoroughly.
  2. Set oven for moderate, 375f.
  3. Cream butter or margarine.
  4. Add sugar gradually and continue beating until light and fluffy.
  5. Add eggs, syrup, salt, vanilla, and chopped nuts.
  6. Pour into pie shell.
  7. Bake 40 to 45 minutes.
  8. Garnish with whole nuts.
  9. Serve with whipped cream, if desired.
