Orange Filling

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoon butter, or margarine
  • few grains salt
  • 2 teaspoon grated orange, peel
  • 3 egg yolks, slightly beaten
  • 2 tablespoon orange juice

Directions

  1. Combine all ingredients except orange juice in top of double boiler.
  2. Stir to blend well.
  3. Stir over boiling water until thickened.
  4. Cool.
  5. Stir in orange juice; mix well.
  6. Makes enough to fill a 2-layer cake.
