Nut Cookies

Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup butter, and lard mixed
  • 1 /3 cup chopped nut meats, (preferably black walnuts)
  • 2/3 cup 'C' sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon powdered cinnamon
  • 4 tablespoon milk
  • 1/4 teaspoon powdered cloves
  • 2 cup flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon mace
  • 2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg

Directions

  1. Cream the butter, add the sugar and mix well add the egg and milk and then the flour, nuts, cinnamon, cloves, mace, nutmeg and baking powder.
  2. Place the dough on a floured board.
  3. Roll it out one-fourth of an inch thick and cut with a cooky cutter.
  4. Place on a well-buttered and floured baking sheet.
  5. Bake twelve minutes in a moderate oven.
