Molasses Puffs
Ingredients
- 3/4 cup molasses
- 1 egg, well beaten
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 2 teaspoon ginger
- 1/2 cup hot water
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/3 cup butter, and lard (melted)
- 2 teaspoon soda
- 3 cup flour
Directions
- Mix the molasses and sugar.
- Add the hot water and fat.
- Beat well, add the egg and mix thoroughly.
- Sift the ginger, cinnamon, flour and soda together, and add to the rest of the ingredients, mixing well.
- Fill well-buttered muffin pans three-fourths full.
- Bake in a moderate oven for twenty-five minutes.
- Ice with 'c' sugar icing.
