Leg of Lamb and Browned Potatoes

Ingredients

  • 3 pound leg of lamb
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika
  • 6 potatoes
  • 2 tablespoon bacon fat
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1/3 cup boiling water

Directions

  1. Allow the lamb to stand in cold water for ten minutes.
  2. Remove and wipe dry.
  3. Place the fat in a frying-pan.
  4. Add the meat and cook until thoroughly browned on all sides.
  5. Place in the fireless cooker (or a slow oven) and surround the meat with the potatoes.
  6. Sprinkle with the salt and paprika.
  7. Add the water.
  8. If in the cooker, place the heated disks under and over the meat.
  9. Cook two hours.
