
Jumbles
Ingredients
- 3/4 pound sugar
- 3/4 pound butter, creamed very well
- 1 cup flour
- 1 nutmeg, grated
- 3 eggs, whites beaten stiff, and 1 yolk after another dropped in
- salt
- a handful sugar
- a handful flour, run over moulding board and then rub to one side
- dough, size of hickory nut. Roll between fingers and under hand, joining ends to form ring
Directions
- Split dough into pieces size of hickory nut.
- Roll between fingers and under hand, joining ends to form ring.
- Put in dripping pan (without buttering).
- Bake 10 minutes.
- Do not keep with other cake.
- Oven must be moderate.
