Ingredients: 3 quart grapefruit juice, (about 12 grapefruits); 2 quart water; 1/2 cup lemon juice; 2 quart sugar, (4 pounds); 2 quart grapefruit, sections cut in pieces, (about 6 grapefruits); 1 quart evaporated milk

Ingredients

3 quart grapefruit juice, (about 12 grapefruits)
2 quart water
1/2 cup lemon juice
2 quart sugar, (4 pounds)
2 quart grapefruit, sections cut in pieces, (about 6 grapefruits)
1 quart evaporated milk

Directions

Combine grapefruit juice, water, lemon juice, sugar and grapefruit sections.
Freeze to a mush in a 1:6 salt-ice mixture.
Whip the evaporated milk, which has been thoroughly chilled, and add to the partially frozen mixture.
Continue freezing until stiff.
