Grape Nut Pudding

Ingredients

  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 3 1/4 cup boiling water
  • 1/4 teaspoon cloves
  • 2 cup grapenuts
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 cup nut meats
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup raisins
  • 2 tablespoon melted butter
  • 1/2 cup dates
  • pinch of salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon

Directions

  1. Pour boiling water over grapenuts.
  2. Set aside to cool.
  3. Beat yolks of eggs with sugar, spices and butter.
  4. Then add nut meats, raisins and dates.
  5. Mix all with grapenuts.
  6. Lastly fold in the beaten whites of eggs to which salt has been added.
  7. Bake in moderate oven twenty-five minutes.
  8. Serve with whipped cream.
