Cream Dressing
Ingredients
- 1 pint milk
- 1 egg yolk
- 1 teaspoon cornstarch
- butter
- salt
- pepper
Directions
- This dressing may be used for asparagus, or toast, or dried beef.
- Put milk in a farina kettle.
- Beat yolk of 1 egg.
- Dissolve 1 teaspoonful cornstarch in a little milk, and mix with the yolk.
- When milk comes to a boil, stir in the mixture ; then add a lump of butter, and salt and pepper to taste.
