Corn Starch Fruit Pudding

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup cherry juice
  • 3 tablespoon sugar
  • 3 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 egg white

Directions

  1. Mix thoroughly the corn starch, sugar and salt.
  2. Gradually add the cold water and then the juice.
  3. Cook over hot water until the mixture becomes quite thick.
  4. Add the egg-yolk.
  5. Mix well, cool slightly and add the egg-white stiffly beaten.
  6. Pour into a well-moistened custard mould.
  7. Allow to stand for half an hour or more.
  8. Serve with cherry sauce.
