Cocoa II
Ingredients
- 2 cup cocoa, (1/2 pound)
- 2 cup sugar, (1 pound)
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 gallon boiling water
- 1 1/2 gallon evaporated milk
Directions
- Mix cocoa, sugar and salt until blended.
- Add 2 quarts of the boiling water gradually, stirring until well blended.
- Cook over low heat 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Add remaining 1 gallons boiling water and continue cooking 5 minutes.
- When ready to serve, add the evaporated milk, which has been scalded.
- One tablespoon vanilla may be added.
- Mocha variation: combine 2 parts of hot cocoa with 1 part of strong, hot coffee.
