Chocolate Sponge Cake
Ingredients
- 5 tablespoon butter
- 1/4 teaspoon cloves
- 4 tablespoon cocoa
- 1 cup flour
- 1 egg
- 3 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/8 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup cold water
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
Directions
- Cream the butter, add the sugar.
- Stir in the egg and beat well.
- Add the cinnamon, cloves, baking powder, cocoa, flour, vanilla and water.
- Beat vigorously for two minutes.
- Bake in well-buttered gem pans for eighteen minutes.
- Serve warm if desired.
