Cheese Timbales

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 tablespoon flour
  • 1/4 cup fresh, soft bread crumbs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup grated American cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 egg

Directions

  1. Melt the butter, add the flour, salt and paprika.
  2. Mix well, gradually add the milk, cheese and bread crumbs.
  3. Cook three minutes, and then stir in the egg, well beaten.
  4. Butter six timbale moulds well.
  5. Place the cups in a pan of hot water and cook fifteen minutes in a moderate oven.
  6. Allow to stand three minutes, and remove from the moulds.
  7. Serve hot with creamed peas.
