Bread and Butter Canapes

Ingredients

  • bread
  • butter
  • tongue
  • salami
  • sardines
  • prawns
  • smoked salmon
  • scrambled or hard-boiled eggs
  • cream cheese

Directions

  1. Cut the bread fairly thinly, butter it and cut into fancy shapes, using a pastry cutter.
  2. Cover with a filling such as those listed above, coat with aspic to hold the filling in place, and decorate with piped savoury butter.
