Boston Cream Pie

Ingredients

  • 3 tablespoon butter
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 8 tablespoon sugar, (one-half 'C')
  • 7/8 cup flour
  • 1 egg
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla

Directions

  1. Cream the butter, add the egg.
  2. Mix well.
  3. Add the sugar and mix thoroughly.
  4. Add the milk alternately with the flour and baking powder.
  5. Mix thoroughly.
  6. Add the flavorings.
  7. Bake in two layer-cake pans, fitted with waxed paper, in a moderate oven for twenty minutes.
  8. Spread the following filling between the layers.
