Boiled Pinto or Great Northern Beans

Ingredients

  • 2 cup dried beans
  • 2 cup water
  • 1/4 pound salt pork
  • salt
  • pepper

Directions

  1. Wash the beans well and soak overnight in water to cover.
  2. In the morning add 2 cups more water, the salt pork, and salt and pepper.
  3. Simmer for an hour, or until the beans are tender.
  4. Add more water if needed.
