Whole-Wheat Griddlecakes (2)

Ingredients

  • 1 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1 cup sifted white flour
  • 3 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 1/4 cup water, or milk if available
  • 2 tablespoon fat, melted

Directions

  1. Mix the dry ingredients.
  2. Combine the beaten egg, liquid, and melted fat.
  3. Add gradually to the dry ingredients, stirring only until the batter is smooth.
  4. Add more liquid if a thinner griddlecake is desired.
  5. Bake the cakes on a hot griddle.
