Whole-Wheat Bread
Ingredients
- 2 cup scalded milk
- 1/4 cup sugar, or 1/3 cup molasses
- 1 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 yeast cake
- 1/4 cup water, to soften yeast cake
- 3 1/4 cup whole wheat flour
- white flour, enough to knead
Directions
- 1 cupful liquid yeast or "leaven " may be used in place of 1 yeast cake.
- Use less liquid in the bread.
