Stewed Dried Fruits

Ingredients

  • water
  • fruit
  • sugar

Directions

  1. Inspect and wash fruit carefully.
  2. Add cold water to cover and allow to soak several hours or overnight.
  3. Cook until tender in the same water in which fruit was soaked, sugar is not usually required for prunes.
  4. One-fourth cup or less of sugar can be added to each pound of apricots.
  5. Stewed dried fruits are delicious served with soft custard.
