Sponge Cake with Whipped Cream

Ingredients

  • 3 slices of stale cake, (three by three by one inch)
  • 3 tablespoon cherry juice
  • 4 tablespoon whipping cream
  • 8 marshmallows, cut in cubes
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 3 tablespoon canned cherries
  • 1 1/2 tablespoon sugar

Directions

  1. Beat the cream until stiff, add the vanilla, marshmallows and sugar.
  2. Arrange the cake in glass sherbet dishes.
  3. Place a tablespoon of cherries and a tablespoon of juice on each slice.
  4. Place one and a half tablespoons of the whipped cream mixture on each portion.
  5. Allow to stand in a cold place for five minutes.
