Sponge Cake

Ingredients

  • 3 eggs, beaten 10 minutes
  • 1 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 cup boiling water
  • 1 cup flour

Directions

  1. Beat eggs 10 minutes.
  2. Add sugar, beat 10 more minutes.
  3. Add cream tartar to 1 cup flour.
  4. Add baking soda to boiling water.
  5. Add flour and flavor to taste.
  6. Stir abundantly.
  7. Just before it is done, sprinkle a little sugar on top of cake.
