Southern Gingerbread
Ingredients
- 1 cup molasses
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup hot water
- 1/2 cup melted butter
- 4 cup flour
- 1 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon soda
Directions
- Stir molasses, sugar and butter together.
- Add hot water.
- Add flour, salt, soda and spices sifted together.
- Beat well.
- Bake in well greased pan in moderate oven for half an hour.
