Rivel (Crumb) Pie

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/4 cup butter and shortening, mixed
  • pastry, shell
  • molasses

Directions

  1. Mix or “crumb” the above ingredients together with the hands to form small lumps or rivels.
  2. Stew the rivels into a prepared pastry shell and bake in a hot oven (400f) for 30 minutes.
  3. Some spread 2 tablespoons.
  4. Of molasses over it before baking.
