Pressed Beef

Ingredients

  • 3 1/2 pound finely chopped raw beef
  • 6 soda crackers, rolled fine
  • 3 eggs, well beaten
  • 1 1/2 tablespoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon pepper, (scant if fresh and strong)

Directions

  1. The tender part of the round free from fat and stringy parts is best.
  2. Your butcher will grind it for you in the sausage cutter.
  3. Mix well together in a loaf.
  4. Bake two hours.
  5. Eat hot for dinner or cold for tea.
  6. Good for picnics.
