Peanut Butter and Fruit Rolls

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 3 teaspoon baking powder
  • 2 tablespoon peanut butter
  • 2 tablespoon lard
  • 3 tablespoon currants
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 tablespoon butter

Directions

  1. Mix the flour, baking powder and salt thoroughly, cut in the lard with a knife until the consistency of cornmeal add the milk, mxing with a knife until a soft dough is formed.
  2. More milk may be needed; this depends on the consistency of the flour.
  3. Pat into a rectangular shape, on a floured board or on a paper.
  4. The dough should be half an inch thick.
  5. Cream the butter, add the peanut butter and spread on the biscuit dough.
  6. Sprinkle the currants on the top.
  7. Roll up carefully, over and over like a cinnamon roll.
  8. Cut off pieces half an inch wide and pat them down in a tin pan.
  9. Bake eighteen minutes in a moderate oven.
