Homemade Biscuit Mixture

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Sift the flour and measure.
  2. Sift again with the baking powder and salt.
  3. Cut in the lard until the mixture has a fine even crumb.
  4. Place in a closed container and keep in refrigerator, using as desired.
  5. This mixture will keep at least a month in the refrigerator.
  6. It will yield five batches with two cups of the mixture to the batch.
  7. It may be used for biscuits, dumplings, shortcake, waffles, muffins, quick coffee cake and dozens of other things.
