Glazed Apples

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Boil sugar and water gently for 5 min.
  2. Quarter and core the apples; put 1/2 the pieces into the syrup, removing when soft; put in the remainder of the apples and cook in the same way.
  3. When all are cooked, strain syrup over them.
  4. Lemon rind, thinly pared, may be cooked in the syrup if the apples are not sour, or a bit of stick cinnamon or ginger root may be added.
