Devil's Food Cake
Ingredients
- 1/3 cup butter
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 cup sugar
- 2/3 teaspoon soda
- 2 cup flour
- 1 egg
- 2/3 cup sour milk
- 2 squares of melted chocolate
Directions
- Cream the butter, add the sugar and continue to cream the mixture.
- Add the egg, well beaten, and the chocolate.
- Mix well.
- Add the soda and flour sifted together, and the sour milk and vanilla.
- Beat three minutes.
- Bake in two layer cake pans prepared with waxed paper for twenty-five minutes in a moderate oven.
