Custard Pie

Ingredients

  • pastry, for 1-crust 9-inch pie
  • 3 eggs
  • 6 tablespoon sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3 cup hot milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • nutmeg

Directions

  1. Set oven for hot, 425f.
  2. Line 9- inch pie pan with pastry.
  3. Beat eggs slightly; stir in sugar and salt.
  4. Add milk gradually, mixing thoroughly.
  5. Stir in vanilla.
  6. Pour into unbaked pie shell.
  7. Sprinkle with nutmeg.
  8. Bake 40 minutes, or until knife inserted in the center comes out clean.
