Cream Pie
Ingredients
- 3 eggs
- 1 pint hot milk
- 1 cup sugar
- butter, size of walnut
- 2 tablespoon cornstarch
- pinch of salt
Directions
- Beat the yolks of three eggs with the cup of sugar and the 2 tablespoons of cornstarch and when thoroughly mixed add to pint of milk that has been brought to the boiling point.
- Add a pinch of salt and butter the size of a walnut.
- Boil the ingredients for about five minutes and then fold in the beaten whites of eggs to the custard and pour into a baked pie shell and let the contents cool.
- Before serving whip one-half pint of cream and spread over the top.
