Butter Cakes

Ingredients

  • 1 pound butter
  • 1 pound granulated sugar
  • 2 pound flour, well sifted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 grated rinds of lemons
  • 3 eggs, well beaten
  • 2 tablespoon milk
  • 2 teaspoon baking powder

Directions

  1. Put ingredients into a large dish.
  2. Work with the hands until it comes together, roll very thin, cut, sprinkle a little granulated sugar on each cake, and bake in a hot oven.
