Bettina’s Plum Pudding

Ingredients

  • 1 cup fresh bread crumbs
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 cup suet, chopped fine
  • 1/4 cup molasses
  • 1/2 teaspoon soda
  • 1 egg
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1/3 cup milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 4 tablespoon raisins
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 4 tablespoon nuts

Directions

  1. Mix the bread crumbs, suet, soda, cloves, cinnamon, salt and baking powder.
  2. Add the raisins cut fine, and the nuts.
  3. Break the egg into the molasses, beat well, and add the milk.
  4. Mix with the first ingredients.
  5. Stir and mix thoroughly.
  6. Fill a well-buttered pudding mould one-half full.
  7. Steam one and a half hours, and serve with yellow sauce.
