Rice Parfait

Ingredients

  • 1 cup cooked rice
  • 2 tablespoon chopped nut meats
  • 1/2 cup hot milk
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 cup cold water
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon granulated gelatin
  • 1/2 cup whipped cream

Directions

  1. Soak the gelatin in cold water for five minutes.
  2. Add the hot milk and allow it to dissolve thoroughly.
  3. Add the sugar, salt, nut meats and rice, and mix well.
  4. When thoroughly cooled, add the whipped cream.
  5. Pour into a well-buttered mould, and allow to stand in a cool place for two hours.
  6. Serve cold.
  7. Whipped cream may be served with the parfait if desired.
