
Pinto or Great Northern Beans with Ground Beef
Ingredients
- 2 cup cooked beans
- 2 cup tomatoes
- 1/2 pound salt pork, diced
- salt
- 1/2 cup chopped onion
- pepper
- 1/2 pound ground lean beef
Directions
- Fry the salt pork until crisp, remove from the fat and add to the beans.
- Then brown the onion in the salt pork fat.
- Add the beef.
- Stir, and cook slowly for 5 minutes.
- Combine all the ingredients, add salt and pepper to taste, and simmer until the meat is tender and the flavors well blended.
