Lemon Sauce

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 teaspoon grated lemon, peel
  • 2 cup water
  • 1/4 cup lemon, juice
  • 1/4 cup butter, or margarine
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Directions

  1. Combine cornstarch, sugar, and lemon peel in 1-quart saucepan.
  2. Add water slowly.
  3. Stir over medium heat until thickened.
  4. Remove from heat; add remaining ingredients.
  5. Good with plain cake (cottage pudding), fruit cobblers, etc.
