Baking Powder Biscuit

Ingredients

  • 2 cup flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 3 tablespoon lard
  • 2/3 cup milk

Directions

  1. Mix and sift the flour, baking powder and salt; cut in the lard with a knife until the consistency of cornmeal.
  2. Add the milk, mixing with a knife.
  3. Pat into a rectangular shape, one-half inch thick, on a floured board.
  4. Cut with a biscuit cutter one and one-half inches in diameter.
  5. Place side by side in a tin pan.
  6. Bake in a moderate oven fifteen minutes.
