Anchovy Twists

Ingredients

  • scraps of flaky or shortcrust pastry
  • anchovy, fillets
  • lemon juice
  • beaten egg

Directions

  1. Roll the pastry 1/8 inch thick and cut it into strips.
  2. Lay a strip of anchovy on top of each and sprinkle with lemon juice.
  3. Twist the two together, brush with beaten egg and bake in hot oven for about 8 minutes.
