Hard Sauce for Brown Betty

Ingredients

  • 4 tablespoon butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon lemon extract
  • 1 teaspoon boiling water

Directions

  1. Cream the butter, add the boiling water, and the sugar gradually.
  2. Stir until the sauce is creamy.
  3. Add vanilla and lemon extract.
  4. Set in the ice-box to harden.
  5. Serve cold.
