Chicken with Button Mushrooms

Ingredients

  • 1 pound chicken breast, meat sliced thin and flat
  • 1 can button mushrooms, sliced thin
  • 1 slice ginger, crushed
  • 1 clove garlic, crushed
  • 1/4 pound Chinese peas, parboil for 1/2 minute
  • 1 stalk green onion, cut into lengths
  • 1/2 cup water and liquid of mushrooms
  • 1 tablespoon soya, for seasoning
  • 1 tablespoon liquor, for seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon sugar, for seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon ajinomoto, for seasoning

Directions

  1. Soak chicken in seasoning for 20 min.
  2. Heat pan with oil.
  3. Brown ginger and garlic and add chicken.
  4. Fry over a low flame for two minutes.
  5. Add mushrooms and water and salt to taste.
  6. Cook 5 minutes.
  7. Thicken with cornstarch.
  8. Just before turning off flame, add peas and green onion.
