Whole-Wheat Biscuits (1)
Ingredients
- 3 cup whole wheat flour
- 1 cup water, or milk if available
- 4 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 5 -6 tablespoon fat
Directions
- Mix the dry ingredients together and cut in the fat.
- Make a well in the mixture and add the liquid slowly, stirring from the center until a soft dough is formed.
- For drop biscuits drop the dough by spoonfuls on a baking pan.
- For cut biscuits place the dough on a lightly floured board and pat out or roll until three-fourths of an inch thick, or knead gently (about 18 strokes) and pat or roll into a sheet three-fourths of an inch thick.
- Cut into biscuits.
- Place on a, pan and bake in a hot oven for about 15 minutes.
