Lettuce Salad with Garlic



  1. Wash the lettuce carefully in cold water, put in lettuce bag and let drain on ice.
  2. Then mix the french dressing, placing mixing bowl in cracked ice.
  3. When you are ready to mix the salad—it should be done at the last minute—slice a clove of garlic and rub it thoroughly on small squares of the dry erust of bread.
  4. Mix the salad and dressing and the crusts of bread in a large bowl, using a wooden fork and spoon.
  5. If you like, remove the crusts after the garlic flavor has been thoroughly mixed in the salad.
