Ingredients: 1 quart old ale; 1 pint boiling water; 1/4 pint rum; 1/4 pint whisky; 1/4 pint gin; sugar, to taste; 1 pinch ground cinnamon; 1 pinch nutmeg; 1 pinch cloves; 1 thinly sliced lemon, to decorate

Ingredients

1 quart old ale
1 pint boiling water
1/4 pint rum
1/4 pint whisky
1/4 pint gin
sugar, to taste
1 pinch ground cinnamon
1 pinch nutmeg
1 pinch cloves
1 thinly sliced lemon, to decorate

Directions

Put all the ingredients into a large saucepan and bring to boiling point.
Strain the mixture into a punch bowl, and decorate with a few thinly cut slices of lemon.
