Fruit Gelatine



  1. Pour 1 pint of cold water over the gelatine, and let it dissolve.
  2. Mix 1 pound of sugar with the juice of 4 oranges and 3 lemons, and the grated rind of 1 orange and 2 lemons.
  3. Pour one pint of boiling water over the partly-dissolved gelatine, and add the other ingredients.
  4. Mix thoroughly and strain.
  5. Pour into moulds or dishes.
  6. Slice the bananas and remaining oranges over it, and set in the refrigerator until it becomes solid.
  7. If the weather is warm, it will harden better in tin than in earthenware.
